How much money do you need to start a business?

As much as you have really! The less money you have the more work you have to put in.

    • Austin Rode

Dan I have started three businesses as a teenager. The first was when I was about 14. It was a YouTube Channel. The next was an affiliate marketing business, which was when I was 16. Both of those failed for two reasons: I focused on the money, and I didn’t work hard enough with enough patience. I now have a business with my brother, and we have worked way harder on this one than the rest. We have been creating content so far and are about to drop our first official product. We have built a fan base and it is quite fun learning how to create a business. I am grateful for the past failures because I have learned a lot, but more importantly these past failures allow me to remain self aware.

True inspiration!! A goal without a plan is just a wish!! 👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

*That depends on your business and resourcefulness*

    • Christopher Bucklein

Actually, you need just a couple of bucks to start your business. It’s enough to get a website (WordPress) is totally fine. Stripe / Paypal have a margin model, so you don’t need any money upfront to charge other people.

      • Christopher Bucklein

@Michal Blaszczak Which is true, but you could start out as a consultant and sell coaching calls and get your clients via Facebook groups.
At some point you def. want to have a backend or to scale, but definitely it’s a start into a business world

      • Michal Blaszczak

@Christopher Bucklein now you are talking about a service business. but then you don’t go to investors to ask for funding for a service in its early stages without signs of scalability and performance since its mostly base on less objective criteria such as the team’s previous experience

      • Christopher Bucklein

@Michal Blaszczak Probably a matter of perspective where you and me are coming from. I have never thought about asking for investors, but was thinking about how to start your own business or personal brand (e.g. online courses / information business).
Even if I’d be in the situation to start a SaaS / E-Commerce I’d try and bootstrap it. But I’m aware that this is a quite priviliged position

      • Michal Blaszczak

@Christopher Bucklein you can’t either create an MVP from a service company, you can only have a portfolio of previous work with clients. unless you are able to standardise services as individual products

      • Michal Blaszczak

@Christopher Bucklein you still need to evaluate the customer acquisition cost for the saas/ecommerce, and that’s never 0.
can you go from 100, to 100, to 10000 with 0$? the cost involve either ads or platform performance that i guess you’d get from AWS or similar services

You need the drive and motivation more than the money to start. I started my business with an idea and the drive, the money came as a natural byproduct from my drive.
